Weekly Book Review No. 22

Sometimes it would be so simple if we didn't complicate our lives unnecessarily, feeling victimized by the situation, asking ourselves why on earth is this happening to me? We've all been there at that point, haven't we?

At Ally Vision, we firmly believe that such life events, supposed mishaps, general discomfort of a physical or mental nature are important clues to our development and should ALWAYS be understood as direct feedback and resonance to our inner attitude. Goodbye victim attitude, whining and complaining. BUT also a big step towards responsibility towards myself and the circumstances I actively create mentally and physically.

The four agreements contain a simple model, an instruction manual, four basic rules we should follow in life. I recommend you test them in your everyday life and that you don't let yourself be misled by the supposed banality. Sometimes the important changes are supposedly small steps, but in total they can bring about much greater things.

Enclosed are the four promises for your life attitude and creation according to Miguel Ruiz. They come from the Toltecs, who ruled most of central Mexico between the 10th and 12th centuries.  

1. be impeccable with your word. That means do not direct your word against yourself and others! From the view of the Toltec everything manifests itself through words. So you create your life through them.

2. do not take anything personally. Everything others say or do is a projection of their own truth. A projection of the respective ways of perceiving others and of your own inner state.

3. do not make assumptions. Our brain wants to understand, justify and explain. This contributes to a sense of security. To achieve this, we constantly make assumptions. However, whether these assumptions are correct is far less important to our brain than the point that we have an explanation. So our assumptions about reality are misleading.

4. always give your best. In every situation, do your best possible, at the time. This may change from day to day or moment to moment, depending on how you are doing and your strength. But do not deviate from always giving your best. The action itself and the decision to do it will bring you happiness.

As simple as the four rules sound, in the consistency and your attitude, by making an agreement with yourself to follow them, you will gradually realize how much freedom this gives you. You will be amazed at the impact your new(?) mindset will have on your daily life and the course of your experiences and resonances.
