Weekly Book Review No. 7

If there was one book that should be on every shelf and which you read again and again every year, in a tradition like "Three Nuts for Cinderella" or similar Christmas movies, then for me it would be "The Journey Home".

In this parable, we travel with Michael Thomas, dissatisfied in life, through a barren land full of turnoffs, angelic beings, and many many questions he must answer for himself (and us) in order to get home.

Have you ever wondered where you are at home and what makes up that homey feeling? Does it really have to do with where you live or is there a lot more to it? Are we at home everywhere or nowhere, depending on how it looks inside ourselves?

Fascinating how simple it could be. In this wise book, which can be read like an adventure novel, Lee Carroll has simply and understandably recorded some of the very central messages of a life. He asks questions that we should all ask ourselves so as not to lose the course and direction of our lives. And also to pause and ask ourselves, where do I stand?

This book, simple and beautifully written, fits wonderfully into the reflective Christmas season and supports you in a relaxed atmosphere to take inventory. It helps you to see if you are still on your personal course and where you might need a little correction to go the way of your heart.
