If we think about our lives, our actions and our habits, most things are subject to a certain structure. The terms vary, of course. Sometimes it is called a rhythm - like the day / night rhythm or the weekly rhythm - sometimes a cycle - like the lunar cycle or the menstrual cycle - or even a routine - like brushing our teeth after a meal. Even our brains are completely programmed for routine because they use the least amount of energy during familiar routines.
So structure helps us focus on the things in life that demand a decision from us, making us more efficient. And not only that. Structure gives us the stability we need to be creative, to think new thoughts, to develop new ideas. It creates the space for (mental) freedom. Figuratively speaking, you could say, structure creates the floor to dance on.
In any case, our daily structure includes our morning practice, consisting of yoga, meditation and a dog walk. This gives us the focus and energy for the day ahead. Also, it makes a huge difference to us whether or not we arrive at ourselves first each morning and then go out into the world (whether online or offline).
We can only heartily recommend you to find a morning routine that suits you and your everyday life. Maybe you will find more inspiration in this article.
PS: Of course, structures, routines and rituals also have their downside. Namely, when you want to get rid of them because they are no longer useful. Browse through the magazine. There's plenty to read about that, too.
